Description
Deliciously crispy on the outside with a creamy spinach filling, these Spinach Puffs are perfect for gatherings or a cozy night in.
Ingredients
- Puff pastry
- Cream cheese
- Fresh or frozen spinach
- Chopped garlic
- Chopped onion
- Nutmeg
- Salt
- Pepper
- Egg (for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into squares, about 10 cm each.
- Heat a pan and sauté the chopped onion and garlic over medium heat until soft.
- Add the spinach to the pan and sauté briefly until wilted. Let cool.
- Mix the cooled spinach with cream cheese, and season well.
- Place a tablespoon of filling in the center of each puff pastry square.
- Dampen the edges of the squares with water and fold them into triangles, sealing the edges well.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Place the filled puffs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
You can prepare these puffs in advance and store them in the refrigerator. They can also be made in an air fryer at 180°C (356°F) for 10-15 minutes.
