Description

Deliciously crispy on the outside with a creamy spinach filling, these Spinach Puffs are perfect for gatherings or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

  • Puff pastry
  • Cream cheese
  • Fresh or frozen spinach
  • Chopped garlic
  • Chopped onion
  • Nutmeg
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Egg (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into squares, about 10 cm each.
  3. Heat a pan and sauté the chopped onion and garlic over medium heat until soft.
  4. Add the spinach to the pan and sauté briefly until wilted. Let cool.
  5. Mix the cooled spinach with cream cheese, and season well.
  6. Place a tablespoon of filling in the center of each puff pastry square.
  7. Dampen the edges of the squares with water and fold them into triangles, sealing the edges well.
  8. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Place the filled puffs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

You can prepare these puffs in advance and store them in the refrigerator. They can also be made in an air fryer at 180°C (356°F) for 10-15 minutes.
